Eliminate Stress When Buying a Home

The truth behind real estate is most people would move homes way more frequently, but something holds them back: THE BELIEF THAT THE PROCESS IS STRESSFUL or THE EXPERIENCE FROM A PAST MOVE THAT WAS PAINFUL!

But why?  The simple answer is there wasn't a plan created before the search even began and the even bigger picture answer is the search was started alone and without a REALTOR® that had a plan in place!  Creating a plan can seem challenging, but having someone to rely on that already has a plan to eliminate your stress makes the entire process more enjoyable and even fun.

So what goes into this plan?  There are many items in this plan from your REALTOR®, but here are 5 items that are a must for any agent.

  1. HOME DESIRE WANTS: Your agent should be able to ask questions to help you clarify all of your wants, including number of beds, bathrooms, total square footage, garage space, acreage, specific amenities as well as other items.
  2. TIMEFRAME: When do you want to be in your new home and why is it important to you.  Getting clear on this will help your urgency of searching as well as when to potentially list your home.
  3. EVERYONE INVOLVED: This is extremely important because most moves impact work schedules, commute schedules as well as potential children schedules for school and activities.  To take the stress away, everyone involved needs to find the positive reasoning for themselves.
  4. FINANCIAL CAPABILITIES: When it comes to searching for a home, understanding financial capabilities is as important as any other item.  The ability to buy either starts with direct available funds or a pre-approval from a mortgage lender to ensure homes fall in budget as well as being able to write strong offers showing financial backing.
  5. COMMUNICATION FIT:  One often overlooked item is communication.  Communication is the key to make sure the journey of home buying is enjoyable.  Agents need to communicate frequently with their clients, but clients also need to be open with their agents.  This 2-way street can be the difference between winning and losing.

This is just the start of the plan, but this may give you some insight on why an agent asks so many questions to start.  Find an agent you like and most importantly find an agent that puts you first.
